Burial in a Catholic Cemetery is a long-standing sign of the church’s reverence for the human body. Appropriately, the ground in Catholic Cemeteries is consecrated to receive sacred remains. Burial in a Catholic Cemetery recognizes baptismal commitment and gives witness, even in death, to our belief in the resurrection.

Traditional Burial

Interment in a grave remains the most widely used form of burial. There are two types of graves, those permitting a lawn level marker, and those permitting a raised family marker. Our cemeteries are laid out for aestetic, operational, and maintenance reasons. When a family monument lot is chosen, the minimum size lot is two graves. Lawn level marker graves are located either in sections with family monuments or in sections that are exclusively marker graves. Monument type graves are a little more expensive since they require more space. Future care of all graves is included in the purchase price.

Cremation Burial

Since 1963 cremation has been an acceptable option for those of the Catholic faith. Whenever possible, however, the church prefers the interment or entombment of the body because it gives a more full expression of our Christian faith.

Crypts and Mausoleums

Garden Crypts

Crypts are available for above ground burials in exterior settings. Community crypt facilities make above ground burial affordable for people who have a preference for this type of burial. Depending on the type of memorial selected for ground burial or the type of outer burial container purchased, crypt burial can often be comparable in cost to grave burial. Garden Crypt Masuoleum space is available at the Catholic Cemetery and Woodlawn Cemetery.

Private Mausoleums

Private Masuoleums are available at the Catholic Cemetery and Gate of Heaven Cemetery.

Pre-Need Arrangements

Today over half the purchases of burial space made in the Catholic Cemetery are made in advance of death (preneed). This shows both a sense of thoughtful planning and economic wisdom. The decisions made now will be your own. This gives you peace of mind now, and your loved ones peace of mind later. A pre-need burial selection may be made calmly, responsibly, and economically with a down payment and interest-free monthly payments. Full payment is required only when a grave or crypt is used. The down payment and interest-free monthly payments are determined by the number of units selected. Monthly payments are for 12 months.
